Ruby Red Pearl Ti Crown Jewel

’12 Titanium Crown Jewel

Owner: Cris Bloomfield

From: Greater Manchester, UK

Paint: Ruby Red Pearl with Freshwater Pearl Jersey Panels and hand-painted graphics by Chris Rowe

Comments: This is a special bike with a paint job inspired by two great British frame builders Harry Hall and Dave Yates. IFs modern take on my request for a classic paintjob (inspired by a Yates paintjob on a previous Harry Hall bike) and a state of the art chassis in Titanium is my dream come true. It tips the scales at just under 17.5lbs. Full SRAM Red, Ultegra Carbon SPD SL Pedals, Deda Newton Bars and classic Mavic Helium wheelset. I’m sure this build will evolve….

Fab is that from Tim Cris.
I promise I’ll take some pictures of my Sprout Green Crown Steel Crown Jewel when we get some sun. I love how yours is Ti and traditional with a mix of kit just right I reckon.

Cris, does that bike have a different tubeset on it? All the tubes look larger in diameter than a typical Jewel. Looks fantastic!

Michael, good question. The paint will have added some extra diameter to the tubes, so they do look bigger than those on my Ti Deluxe. Those bikes were built 8 years apart so the tubing is likely to have evolved quite a bit in that time too and I’m sure there will be some other subtle differences between road and offroad tubesets
