I would think the bike would do fine. The wheels will need to be stout. How much weight are you expecting to be on the bike? I am assuming you mean packed weight. I would think a 32 or 36 hole 3 cross wheel would do ok.
Dave BradleyMemberYeah man getting back into the game big time. I wasn’t having any luck so called up Jesse and ordered myself a new cross bike. Still a grassroots team member and now comes he wait…and huge amounts of work to get back into shape.
Hey man I also picked up Tyler’s old SS delux. Will send some photos soon.
Hope you Kathy, and the wee ones are doing well!
Cheers
Dave
Dave BradleyMemberGary that is awesome!
Cris…you are the best mate! Sweet stuff!
Dave BradleyMemberYes it is working. I know the folks there are really busy making bikes and shipping them out. They are moving and it has been pushed back until June if I remember correctly.
While they might not get back as quick, it is because they are wicked busy…which is a great thing!
Hang in there and if by Friday no word give them a shout.
Best
Dave
Dave BradleyMemberThey are currently still in the same factory they have been in for years. There is a delay in the factory construction in NH. Once that is done they willbegin their move. I would think some times in late June or early July the last time I spoke with Gary. So for now if you need to contact them or visit with goodies expect to make a trip to Somerville.
Cheers
Dave
Dave BradleyMemberI have picked up Geoff's bikes before as well as Darren and they are always awesome! This one of course is perfect! Someone buy it!
Dave BradleyMemberI would say the closest thing to it would be a polished stainless bike. SSR/SSX
Hmm no idea if it would add much weight, but I did have a Schwinn Predator back when I was a kid with chrome plating and I loved that bike. Looked great.
Would be interested to see. But what do I know all of my bikes are white.
Dave BradleyMemberI loved that bike. I want it! Same one Bracken brought to Bio Wheels that one winter. Man that was fun.
Will give you a chance to ride mine when I buid it up!
Dave BradleyMemberDave BradleyMemberNo worries mate just wasn't sure what was up. This will be my second year racing for IF and always hate to lose a bro.
Good things here in Indiana, but our weather is too cliche'. Warm one hour snowing the next. It is getting better though.
Best of luck to you this season and hope all goes well with no injuries!
Cheers
Dave
Dave BradleyMemberGet a Niner carbon fork! I have used the steel one (IF) and liked it, but the Niner is wicked stiff and light. IF will also paint it whatever you want.
Dave BradleyMemberBro you not racing again this year?
Dave BradleyMemberIf i am correct this bike has been recovered at a DC pawn shop!
Glad you got it back!
Good news!
Dave BradleyMemberNo, I think you will be just fine. I think the worst you would suffer would be clear coat chips if you crashed. You might like the vibration dampening of the carbon rear. The ride is a bit rugged, but think of all of the carbon bikes that ride in Paris Roubaix and so forth. The bike will do just fine. Find the largest tire you can…maybe a 28C and go with decent pressure like 85 to 90psi.
Go for it.
Dave BradleyMemberif you have the shot peened finish (kind of sparkly) then use a pumice soft soap. Rub it in with your hand or cloth and then spray off. If it is not and has a smoother finish, then use pledge furniture polish and it will clean right up.
