Added some new stuff to the forum to make it a bit friendlier to use. Including forum editing buttons which should now be visible above the editing window and the ability to post up images (although they will be resized to 600 px wide).

If you see either bike as a long term investment, then I would favour the SSR due to the corrosion resistance of the tubesets. The majority of dead steel frames are a result of internal corrosion of the tubing (usually around the BB junction).

I think that’s a great idea. Given that the US membership is spread all over the country there might be local pockets of interest in this. I suspect that there would be potential interest in the following cities:

    Boston

    New York

    Seattle

    San Francisco

There may be others? Perhaps IF dealers would be prepared to step up to the plate to help with the local organisation of events. If you have any ideas or suggestions on taking this forward, please post up or email me: admin@ifrider.com

I’ve ridden a Tungsten Electrode albeit a prototype and I think it’d be a shame not to see a derivative of it on the trails. It’s in the hands of Indy Fab as to whether we’ll see the bike in production format in future. Fingers and toes crossed!

Last time I was in the factory there was a derivative of the Tungsten Electrode being tested. As I understand it the concept is still being developed and investigated, but the team are being very careful not to release something until they are 100% comfortable and happy with it going into the public market.

    Matt

The EU (UK) store was taken down last year due to sales figures being very low. If there is sufficient demand I may look at reinstating some form of store for the UK and EU market. What designs/colours would you want?

Also wit the log-in error are you referring to the store or another part of the site?

    Cheers

Sad news, but a very distinctive bike. It may help to have this registered on the site in case anyone searches for it. A stolen section on forum might help too? Drop me a line if you want any help on these Mitch.

It was once said in an interview…

As the brand has grown the last 13 years it has attracted men and women who are like minded who’s only thought is doing the best they can to make good bikes. We (IF) never say best because we don’t believe in best. When you are the best you have nothing to improve on. When you are good you are typically trying to make things better day to day and year to year.

I have seen no proof that this commitment and desire to continuously develop and refine their products has changed.

All comments have value so thanks for taking time to make some remarks :)

I’m particularly interested to hear what people have to say about the user interfaces in the new site. I had nothing to do with it, but I’m interested in gauging responses for potential ideas that might wind up on ifrider.com

There’s definitely been a reduction in the number of submissions (around 50% down in comparison to the last four years for the same period) to the Owners’ Club since the new ifbikes.com site went live. I can only assume that this is because the link to the OC is now hidden away, rather than being on the front page.

I think that there’s significant value in the history of things and there should be a celebration of all those who’ve contributed to the success of IF over the years. Who knows there might be something in the works that addresses that. I haven’t looked in detail, but the history section of the new site, but it seemed to have been substantially re-edited (it was HUGE before). Rather than read too much into any missing names, it’s likely the text was put together to keep it concise.

As I said above none of my doing, just exxpressing some views :)
