I recently posted my new SSR on the site and found it interesting that the comments seemed to focus on the fork. It’s a steel fork, but not 953 stainless, as Reynolds doesn’t make fork tubing in 953… not yet. Other members’ bikes have comments noting the niceness of the steel fork, and we see them year-after-year on many IF bikes for NAHBS. Of course, the new EDGE carbon forks are dazzling, not only in technology, but so copious in surface area as to allow the IF paint crew to stretch out.
Yet, it seems hard to find much info available about the classic, tried-and-true IF steel road fork. I’m sure it’s not the newest material, and the design seems classic, but it’s worthy of some attention.
Would anyone else like to see an ifrider “featurette” on the IF steel fork?
