Why IF? Posted on October 7th 2009

I don’t get paid to advertise companies or products, but I will totally sell out for the right price. Until then, I pay full retail for my stuff. Having said that nonsense, I have had way to many bikes in my life, especially in the last few years as I have become more involved in cycling and have completely lost my head with bikes. While that is not a confession for some support group that dwells in the dark basement of a bike shop where mena nd women sit around and degrease chains and wrap bar tape or a notch on the bed post in the cold dorm of a fraternity house kind of claim, I have found a home in my heart and wallet for Independent Fabrication. There are a few things in my life I cherish and beyond people, these bikes are it. (Disclaimer…any of the bikes on the links I have listed and the folks behind them are amazing and I would love to own one or many actually) However, the boys and girls at IF simply rock my world. In that creepy OCD way that most folks in Hazzard County lusted after Daisy Duke.

I have had the pleasure of meeting several of them at the most recent NAHBS and while I had spoken to a few particular members over the years, this was the first meeting. Just class act in my book and the bikes they design are simply brilliant. Check em out, buy several and ride.

Here at JIFC we ride and spew all sorts of kudos and niceties about the folks in Somerville, MA and we hope they feel the love bay-bee!

I have had several frames from IF and wish I had them all back, but eggs crumble and cookies break. The frames from road, to mountain to cross all killed and my current ride is a crowd pleaser. With all due respect, now I said with all due respect, no one does it better!
