photoHere’s the official line from the Factory on the latest IF model:

We are proud to launch the latest IF model, the all carbon, all custom Corvid. After a year of joint development with Edge Composites, we are now ready to take orders on a limited basis.

When we decided to make a full carbon frame we wanted to make something that was clearly an IF, and distinctive in the marketplace. Visually, the classic lines and 3D molded crown details make it an IF. Impressive enough to capture the judges attention at the 2009 North American Handmade Bicycle Show, where it was named “Best Carbon Bike”. No small feat considering the breadth of carbon specialists at the show.

Technically speaking, beauty is more than skin deep. Each tube and lug is an individually molded monocoque component. This allows for precise tuning through resin to fiber ratios and variable component wall thickness, all while offering vastly superior strength to weight ratios vs. traditional hand lay-ups.

Standardized testing at Engineered Materials Lab has gone extremely well… the frame cannot be broken… and ride tests have yielded comments from “sublime”, to “is this thing filled with helium?”.

Pricing is $5,495, frame, fork and head-set, just below our flag-ship XS.
