Hi – I have a couple of questions about my new bike: do all IF’s have serial #’s on them? And should they all have head badges? This bike has many of the appropriate markings of a CR, such as nice braze-ons in the right locations for a rack, the fork with the rack mounts, gussets, etc. But! It does not have a head badge (decal instead) and has no serial number that I can find. The decals also seem all appropriate.
All IF’s should have a serial number on them stamped underneath the bottom bracket, and the fork has one stamped on the steerer tube. And not all IF’s have head badges. Its an option on the steel Club Racer.
Chris – thanks – I’ll check the steerer tube. I’m wondering if I need to remove the plastic cable guide to see the serial number. I’m starting to worry that this might be an imposter…
Ok – found it on the steerer tube – 1SR145. Muchas gracias!
No problem…and just to let you know the fork serial number is always different than the frame…you don’t have to move the cable guide to see the frame serial number, its kinda on the outside, non-drive side underneath the bb.
